Volunteer Arborists Make Contribution

$ 50,000 Worth Of Work Is Donated

Last spring, members of the Long Island Arbor Cultural Association donated their services to the park for an entire morning. "This was the most successful event of its kind, with the arborists performing well over $50,000 worth of work," noted Kevin Connelly, former park manager.
Among the projects accomplished by these trained specialists using their professional equipment were: cutting down large trees that were diseased and dangerous, clearing the greenhouse area, generating quality compost, shredding debris into wood chips, preventive pruning and aerating roots. The arborists also donated and planted a beautiful red maple tree.
The Foundation salutes the
men and women of the Long Island Arbor Cultural Association on a job well done!!
